March 2007
Every February UPS Ground and Fed Ex Ground have traditionally raised their rates and this year is no exception. In addition to the rate increase they have both implemented an additional dimensional weight charge. What this means is that the weight of the box is irrelevant, the size of the box is. As an example, you are shipped items in a box that is 20x20x20 and weights 25lbs, with UPS/FEDEX dim weight requirements we have to charge you for 41lbs. For small shipments the increase isn’t too bad, but on larger shipments (several boxes) that we would have shipped ground, trucking companies are cheaper. We want you to know that we are doing everything we can to keep the cost of freight down, and are checking every avenue available to get your merchandise to you as economically as possible. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call. We appreciate your continued business. Payne Street/Breece Collection
